The Earth Sciences Museum is always seeking donation of rocks, minerals, fossils, meteorites, replicas, photographs, instruments and artwork in accordance with the Mission Statement.

Below is a list of areas we are focusing our collecting efforts to enhance the completeness of our collection.

Permanent collection

  • Minerals associated with Mohs scale of hardness: Talc, Gypsum, Calcite, Apatite, Fluorite, Feldspar, Quartz, Topaz, Corundum, Diamond (just kidding!)

Museum hours

Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre (the “Dino pit”) open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The museum’s main atrium, mining tunnel, Great Lakes fountain and stunning mineral exhibits open all day Monday to Friday, and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekends.

Peter Russell Rock Garden (located outdoors) open to the public year round. Self-guided tours are available.
