Using a new-generation satellite imaging system to inform health system planning in the Zambezi flood plain

Presented By Craig Janes

Abstract

In the seminar we will discuss how the EASA Copernicus Sentinal satellite system can be used for flood prediction and management, with a particular focus on how this information can be used to improve health system performance and public health in the Western Province of Zambia.  I’ll speak mainly to the potential for preventing maternal mortality/morbidity and identifying and controlling malaria hot spots. This is ongoing work, with much still in the planning stage. Brainstorming of particular approaches to implementation and research will be encouraged.

Everyone Welcome. Coffee Provided.
