My research centers on developing methods and tools to better inform policy-makers of the benefits of using natural resources sustainably. Specifically, I conduct research on the capacity-building side of ecosystem services (e.g., water quality, water supply, nutrient cycling, and flood regulation). I perform system dynamics and large-scale spatial modeling of ecosystem services, and transform the outputs into policy-relevant metrics. Currently, in the Global Water Futures (GWF) project, I am supporting the core modeling team in simulating anthropogenic pressures on terrestrial water cycle and subsequent changes in aquatic ecosystem services in lakes.
