Joint Economics and Legal Studies student, Ciara Burrows, wins prestigious scholarship

Ciara Burrows, a fourth year student majoring in Economics and Legal Studies, has won a $25,000 scholarship from an insurance firm, Hamilton Insurance Group. Congratulations, Ciara!

Announcing the Nihar and Mina Bose Graduate Scholarship

I am pleased to announce that Professor Sukesh Ghosh and Mrs. Nandita Ghosh have made a financial gift to the Department to create the Nihar and Mina Bose Graduate Scholarship in Economics.  The scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full time in the Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo.

Galen Wray invited to present research in 2018 Bank of Canada Poster Session at CEA Conference

Congratulations to undergraduate Math Econ student Galen Wray who was invited to present her research titled Short-Term Inflation Forecasting in Canada Using Machine Learning in the Bank of Canada Poster Session at the Canadian Economics Association Conference held last week. The conference ran from May 30-June 4 in Montreal. Wray had to apply and was one selected as one of twelve undergraduate students to present her work.
