Research by Waterloo Economics PhD grad Sara Aghakazemjourabbaf and faculty member Margaret Insley has been featured in Science for Environment Policy, a news service published by the European Commission's Environment Directorate-General. The article recommends stringent environmental bonds to cover clean-up costs for mining waste.

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo is seeking to fill a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) and tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated (flexible) start date of January 2022. Congratulations to PhD student Renfang Tian who successfully defended her PhD! Her thesis is titled, “On Functional Data Analysis: Methodologies and Applications”. Her supervisor was Professor Tao Chen. The department is incredibly proud of your hard work. Renfang will be an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) at King's University College at Western University.
