Qidi Hu awarded Governor General's Silver Medal

Hu, Peers, InsleyThe Economics department is extremely pleased to announce that Qidi Hu, an Economics 2+2 student from Shandong Normal University, has been awarded the Governor General's Silver Medal for outstanding academic achievement. Awards are based on academic achievement at the bronze, silver and gold level for high school, undergraduate or graduate levels respectively. According to the award website, past recipients include Pierre Trudeau, Tommy Douglas, Kim Campbell, Robert Bourassa, Robert Stanfield and Gabrielle Roy.

Qidi is a fantastic student who, after completing undergraduate courses in Spring 2018, completed a Master's degree from the University of Toronto, and will be pursuing a PhD starting in Fall 2019. Our department was very fortunate to have such a dedicated and accomplished student. Congratulations, Qidi!
