Are you passionate about global sustainability? Interested in developing your leadership and problem solving skills?
The WACE Global Challenge is an experiential learning project that connects multi-disciplinary student teams from universities across the world to conduct research and provide recommendations to organizations across the world in response to a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. The WACE Global Challenge #3 cohort will be running from November 14th, 2022 - December 9th, 2022. Students will be required to commit to 25 hours in total over the 4-week experience.
This job is part of the Powering Change program, which is funded by Global Skills Opportunity (GSO), the Government of Canada’s outbound mobility pilot program.
As a result of this funding, a $1000.00 award is being offered as compensation to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who self-identify with any of the following special interest groups as defined by GSO:
- Low-income student (includes those who report to be in receipt of Canada Student Grants, or similar non-repayable student financial assistance offered by provinces and territories, or, in the absence of receiving non-repayable student financial assistance, can provide information to demonstrate that they require financial support to study or work abroad).
- Indigenous student (includes those who report being an Indigenous person, that is, First Nations, Metis or Inuk [Inuit]).
- Students with disabilities (includes those who report to have a difficulty or impairment due to a long-term condition or health problem and/or experiences a limitation in their daily activities).
Please note, there is a cost of $175.00 USD to take part in this program. Students will be responsible for the program fee. The award amount can be used to pay for the program. More information about funding will be shared when students confirm their position.
The WACE Global Challenge is currently only available to EDGE students. Students will be required to take an elective PD course alongside this experience and use this position towards earning a work & community experience milestone.
