Abstract:

Since the advancement of personal computers, they have been used in training and education. Some of the early computer systems used in this field are Computer Based Training (CBT) and Computer Aided Instructions (CAI). The problem of these system is that they do not adapt to learners’ needs and abilities. Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) where proposed to offer more human-like instruction to students by taking both the student and the knowledge domain into consideration. This thesis will examine the components of such systems, discuss the challenges faced by the designers, provide examples of previously implemented systems, and propose a new system design to tutor microelectronic circuits in more efficient manner.
