Indigenous students, faculty and staff are invited to join us for a special Ribbon Skirt Workshop in preparation for National Ribbon Skirt Day on January 4th.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to celebrate and preserve Indigenous culture, promote community engagement, and to learn the art and significance of ribbon skirt making. At the end of this workshop, you will have created your own unique and personalized ribbon skirt that you can be proud to wear on National Ribbon Skirt Day. 

This presentation will cover highlights of deceptively simple concepts theorized by Indigenous scholars for community-engaged research projects—known as the “Decolonial “R’s” of Research” — and together, we will consider their expansive meanings and implications in a typical university-based research project lifecycle virtually on Friday, November 29 from 10 to 11 a.m.

This year, to celebrate and bring awareness to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, CCDI welcomes panelists to discuss our shared responsibilities in understanding disability issues, dispelling ableist myths and stereotypes, and illuminating the vast benefits of inclusive and accessible workplaces and societies for all people.

The Integrated Accessibility Retreat is a one-day retreat where you’ll learn how to incorporate accessible education practices into your course. With an overarching goal to reduce overwhelm, this retreat is for instructors at any level of accessibility confidence.
