Assessment

The Kirkpatrick framework will be applied to assess their development in Teamwork. For example:

  1. Reaction: Measured during and/or immediately following the activity; students may also be invited to reflect on the value of activities later in their program.
  2. Learning: Short-term learning will be assessed immediately following the activity.
  3. Behaviour: Translation of learning into practice implies a change in behaviour, for example, a change in the manner in which a team interacts in future semesters.
  4. Result: The most comprehensive demonstration of graduating students’ capability to work successfully in teams is in the final-year capstone design project, as well as in their performance in related endeavours such as design competitions and start-up companies. The quality of these will be used as indicators of the success of the IDEAs Clinic approach.
