Engineering Science Quest (ESQ) Workshops are available throughout the year except for July and August. While we do our best to accommodate all workshop requests, we cannot guarantee any dates as it is subject to existing events, programs, and staffing.

ESQ offers a large variety of one hour workshops that are appropriate for the elementary school classroom, high school classroom, or community groups (such as guides and scouts). Each workshop is designed to compliment specific science outcomes as outlined in the Ontario Science curriculum documents.

Each activity is an hour in length and starts with an introduction by University students, who will lead the hands-on activity as well as give a short lesson on the theory that the activity demonstrates.

These activities are an excellent way to reinforce concepts that have already been taught, or to get students excited for what they will be learning later in the unit.

Each workshop is only $60 though we may be able to provide subisidies depending on available resources. Please contact us to discuss this option.

Locations offered

ESQ considers workshop registration from schools across southern Ontario, but we may not be able to run in your location due to travel considerations (distance and/or seasonal driving conditions). Some higher costs may apply if your school is a considerable distance away from the Waterloo Region and the number of workshops requested is low. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your location and cost.

Depending on the time of the year, we may also be able to host your workshop on the Waterloo campus.
