Hey, I’m Vlad. I’m a mechanical engineering student currently in 1B, and I’m graduating in 2024 if all goes well :).
Waterloo Engineering in one word:
I choose Waterloo Engineering because:
I wanted to be a part of the coop program and I knew that Waterloo was a very good school.
The best thing about my program is:
For me, it has a good balance between actual design, math, and coding. Also, everyone is funny and chill.
About my Co-op experience:
My first coop was cool because I got to actually do things related to my program (such as 3D modelling in Solidworks). Having the extra free time was also nice, but I missed seeing my friends on campus since everyone was far away.
I wish I had known before I came:
Take a chill pill. Everyone is as lost as you are.
Outside the classroom, I’m involved with:
Intramural ultimate frisbee and volleyball. I was also a member of WatLock where we designed a compact airlock that could be used for missions to Mars.
A fun project I’ve completed:
For my mechanical design course, we developed a bathtub toy called the “Water Screw” which involved a series of pieces that connect like legos and allow water to flow and splash around.
One more thing about me:
I’m a film nerd so hmu with film related content.
