Introduce yourself briefly:
Hi! I’m Jeff Zhu, 2B Computer Engineering student. I love board games, cooking, skating, and hope to get better at badminton!
Waterloo Engineering in one word:
Connected
I choose Waterloo Engineering because:
No other school does co-op like Waterloo. Students, schedules, and even extracurricular logistics revolve around it, and co-op is a fantastic way to explore and discover your interests.
The best thing about my program is:
The people! My classmates have motivated, taught, and laughed with me through
About my Co-op experience:
Co-op has been defining! I really didn’t know what I wanted to do (and still don’t have it all figured out yet) but being able to learn and contribute to different teams and positions has been awesome. So far, I’ve completed three co-op terms in software development at Cisco, BDO, and Samsung Research America.
I wish I had known before I came:
Your friends are everything! If you’re ever unsure or need help, reach out to classmates.
Outside the classroom, I’m involved with:
I’ll be serving on the WUSA Board of Directors (student association) as well as supporting engineering initiatives as Director of the Waterloo Engineering Endowment Foundation.
A fun project I’ve completed:
Cooking mussels on the beach!
One more thing about me:
I love potatoes! Tell me your favourite potato dishes.
