3 Minutes Thesis (3MT) finalists from across 6 University of Waterloo faculties will compete to win money and advance to the 3MT Provincial Finals!
Competitors will have 1 static slide and 3 minutes to present the breadth and significance of their graduate research to a non-specialist panel of judges.
Be part of the action by selecting the People’s Choice award winner; no need to register. First come, first seated.
The final of the 2015-16 Water Institute WaterTalks lecturers is Dr. Prabhakar Clement, Harold Vince Groome Professor of Environmental Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Auburn University.

Graduating Students
Engineering Alumni Affairs cordially invites all engineering students graduating in June 2016 to the Dean's toast to the Class of 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on March 30. The champagne toast will be at 6:00 p.m.
Anne Millar and our very own Waterloo Professor Mary Wells are inviting those who wish to see women enter and flourish in science and engineering to hear them discuss their book Women of Impact.

Fifteen outstanding design projects, short-listed from over 40 applicants representing all engineering departments, will be chosen to compete for $60,000 in funding. The Esch Awards support creative and entrepreneurial students in the pursuit of research and development and its commercialization for the benefit of Canada.

Each week facilitators will introduce you to stress management practices to help you find relief from stress. These practices will be something you can learn to do yourself to prevent and reduce negative impact of stress. Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a note pad and pen.
The Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy invites you to attend Energy Day 2016 featuring an enlightening day of energy research presentations, poster displays, networking opportunities, interesting discussions with researchers, AND a video contest to win prizes!
The event will be on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be provided so make your way on to Federation Hall for a great day of energy day activities!
Join us for the FIRST Robotics Competition, Waterloo Regional, hosted at the University of Waterloo in the Physical Activities Complex. Thirty-two high-school teams from across Ontario and the US will converge on the University of Waterloo for the three-day competition, where they will demonstrate their robot in this year's challenge, FIRST Stronghold.
The event is open to the public and admittance is free. Final rounds will occur on Saturday afternoon.
The Water Institute is hosting a seminar by Bejoy Thomas, Fellow, Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). He will speak on Resilience, vulnerability and environmental change: insights from the rapidly urbanizing Arkavathy sub-basin, India.
The Water Institute is pleased to host Peter Mollinga, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, for a seminar discussing publishing in the journal Water Alternatives.
Dr. Mollinga is the editor of the journal Water Alternatives, and will share advice on for publishing in this journal. This may be of interest to junior faculity and senior graduate students.
