The Canadian Coastal Resilience Forum and the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change are pleased to present our inaugural documentary screening of the film Anthropocene: The Human Epoch. A cinematic meditation on humanity’s massive reengineering of the planet, ANTHROPOCENE: The Human Epoch is a four years in the making feature documentary film from the multiple-award winning team of Jennifer Baichwal, Nicholas de Pencier and Edward Burtynsky.
Join us for a panel discussion between three health care and artificial intelligence experts – Helen Chen (PhD 1998), the Associate Director of Professional Practice Center in Health Systems at UWaterloo; Richa Mittal, Practicing Radiologist at Guelph General Hospital; and Linda Wang (BASc 2018, MASc candidate), Machine Learning Researcher at DarwinAI - moderated by Sheldon Fernandez (BASc 2001), the CEO of DarwinAI. The panel discussion titled Artificial Intelligence, Ethics and Healthcare: the Need for Diverse Perspectives will explore questions around patient privacy, data bias and ethical decision-making.
This panel will bring together global thought leaders from business, tech, political science, and the non-profit sector to discuss the opportunities for AI in global development and the role of different sectors in implementing sustainable solutions.
All Systems Design Engineering alumni are invited back to campus for our annual Systems Design / Biomedical Engineering lunch, lecture, and capstone design symposium. Join us for a complimentary lunch, reconnect with the department, and enjoy a cutting-edge research presentation exclusively for Systems Design Engineering alumni.
Biomedical Engineering's Capstone Design Symposium will showcase the latest biomedical innovations from final year Engineering students. Students will present and discuss their research from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with visual aids and tactile materials or prototypes to illustrate their research.
For more information on all the research projects that will be presented, please see the 2020 Systems Design Engineering Capstone Design Projects page and discover the symposium for yourself on March 12 in Engineering 7.
Discover dozens of innovations from final year student research teams at Mechatronics Engineering's Capstone Design Symposium.
For more information on all the research projects that will be presented, please see the 2020 Mechatronics Engineering Capstone Design Projects page.
All Mechatronics Engineering alumni are invited to the Waterloo Engineering alumni event TronCon to connect with mechatronics engineering current students as well as fellow mechatronics classmates.
For more information on this year's projects, see the 2020 Electrical and Computer Engineering Capstone Design Projects page.
