The inaugural CelluForce-Waterloo Design Competition will feature 20 teams of third-year nanotechnology engineering students presenting innovative applications of nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC). Used for a wide variety of consumer and industrial products in sectors ranging from healthcare and cosmetics to energy storage and generation, NCC technology offers considerable benefit to our world.

Four prizes will be awarded, with project presentations judged by a panel of experts from event sponsor CelluForce Inc., including Jean Moreau (CEO), Dr. Richard Berry (CTO), Dr. Wadood Hamad (Principal Scientist), and Rod Badcock (Business Development Manager). CelluForce, a joint venture of Domtar Corporation and FPInnovations, is the world leader in the commercial development of nanocrystalline cellulose.

Presentations will take place throughout the day and are open to members of the public and media.
