At this fireside chat moderated by Professor Wayne Chang of the Conrad Centre, two of the four co-founders of Flipp Corporation will talk about how they started their company and grew it from four to 400 employees in 12 years, how they initially and successfully identified a problem and solved it for consumers, and how they recently raised $61 million in venture capital.

David Au-Yeung is the vice president of engineering and a co-founder of Flipp, a leading retail technology company that is reinventing the digital shopping experience. Prior to David’s current role in Engineering, he played a significant role defining and leading the employee brand at Flipp. David also implemented the company’s first leadership framework to help drive excellence in the company’s coaching model. Under his leadership, Flipp was recognized for its unique culture through numerous industry accolades. As the VP of Engineering, David leads a team of over 140 people. He creates the technology vision to drive innovation in the retail industry including the Flipp app that is used by millions of shoppers to save time and money everyday. David is an active member of the tech community and has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Benefits Canada, The Ottawa Citizen and Forbes.

David Meyers is a co-founder and principal engineer at Flipp, a leading retail technology company that is reinventing the digital shopping experience. In this role, David leads the design and development of Flipp’s scalable backend architecture. Prior to starting Flipp, David worked in the technology sector, holding positions at Hydro-One and Sun Microsystems. David has been published in The Globe and Mail and Techvibes and appeared in both Forbes and Forbes (Asia). He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from University of Waterloo's Computer Engineering program.
