The University of Waterloo is proud to host the FIRST LEGO League's first-ever West Ontario Provincials on Sunday, January 13. Regional tournaments were held in November and December of 2012, with 40 teams of students aged 9-14 (including 12 teams from Waterloo Region) qualifying for this event. This year's challenge is "Senior Solutions", asking students to investigate new ways to help seniors stay independent, engaged, and connected.

Winners will compete at the World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri or at one of the International Open Championships (held this year in Germany, Florida, and California).

Visit the official website for more information on FIRST LEGO League.

Volunteers

We are also looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles throughout the day. As a volunteer, you will get to share the excitement of the FLL teams while they compete and have fun with science and technology.

Volunteers will need to be on site from about 7:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, January 13th, 2013. Lunch will be provided in the volunteer lounge, and all volunteers will receive a t-shirt.

Potential volunteers can sign up via our online form, and will be contacted as soon as possible for confirmation.
