SUMMARY:Distinguished Lecture: Cognitive Risk Control for Physical Systems\
 ,\npresented by Dr. Simon Haykin
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:ABSTRACT:\n\nThe Cognitive Dynamic System (CDS) is a unique res
earch tool inspired\nby certain aspects of the brain\; one aspect is \"pre
dictive\nadaptation\,\" known in cognitive neuroscience. From an engineeri
ng\nperspective\, predictive adaptation plays a key role in the CDS\, most
\nimportantly when the environment is disturbed by the presence of\nunexpe
cted adverse events\, commonly referred to as ‘risk.’
