Waterloo Engineering students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive virtual Office Hour "Challenging Workplace Norms for Better Roles & Opportunities".

In honour of International Women's Day, Ten Thousand Coffees is hosting a panel of female talent leaders from adidas, RBC, AIG, IBM, and Facebook to discuss how we can manage and overcome gender-based hurdles in our career. We aim to celebrate the achievements of women and female identifying people and create an inclusive workplace for all. So, please join us to learn more about how we can #ChooseToChallenge workplace norms and build an environment where women can thrive.

Biography

Bridget King is the Talent Acquisition Manager, Early Professional Hiring at IBM. She is responsible for leading IBM's North America Early Professional Programs teams including diversity programs, events, and intern programs. She has been with IBM over 5 years in talent acquisition and specializes in talent marketing, social media and early career programs. Previously, she led the IBM Canada Campus Recruiting team. Bridget is a graduate of the University of Waterloo Arts and Business Co-op Program (Political Science) and was named Campus Recruiter of the Year by Talent Egg in 2017.

Biography

As Senior Vice President, Talent Strategy & Solutions, Kelly leads RBC’s Centers of Expertise focused on the innovation and development of enterprise wide talent strategy and solutions. Areas of accountability include Leadership, Learning & Performance, Talent Solutions, Future of Work and Culture, Diversity & Inclusion and Organizational Effectiveness.  Kelly also leads the Reimagine HR program which is the transformation of RBC’s HR function and technology to a streamlined and data driven Human Capital Management system. 

Kelly has worked in Financial Services for 25 years holding progressively more senior roles in the business and in Human Resources with deep expertise in leadership and talent management.  In addition, Kelly has a diverse background in Personal & Commercial Banking both in retail sales leadership and National Office.  

Kelly holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph and lives in Markham with her husband, Richard and son Nicholas.
