Office Hour with Paul Craven (BASc '84): “The Science Behind Selling: How One Engineer Went from Hating Sales to Loving Sales”

Waterloo Engineering students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive virtual Office Hour with Waterloo Engineering alumnus Paul Craven (BASc 1984, Systems Design Engineering), President of Responsive Brands, who will discuss “The Science Behind Selling: How One Engineer Went from Hating Sales to Loving Sales”.

During this Office Hour, Paul Craven will talk about his journey from hating sales, and everything about sales, to loving learning the science behind sales. Learn how he completely reversed his thinking on sales and sales management after he begun to learn the science behind selling. Paul will introduce the topic of the science of selling with many examples that he has learned, some the hard way, and then will provide participants with resources of where to learn more as well as how to apply the science. Join fellow alumni and students for this virtual Office Hour to gain access to Paul’s expertise and knowledge. Please bring your questions!

Biography

Paul Craven, with his partners, founded Responsive Brands in 2013. Paul is the President and Chairman of the Executive Committee. 

Paul's experience in the mergers and acquisitions process yielded from his previous 25 year run as a partner in Solarsoft Business Systems Inc (formerly CMS Software) where they grew from a modest 11 employees to 450 during his tenure. Integrity, integration and customer/employee centric values were paramount in his success.

​Paul has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in systems design engineering from the University of Waterloo.
