Overcoming Burnout: Practical Tips to Manage Workplace Stress and Demands

Overcoming Burnout: Practical Tips to Manage Workplace Stress and Demands

In 2019, the World Health Organization declared that Burnout was an “occupational phenomenon” and identified the characteristics of this condition. With the current challenges of COVID-19, online learning, and work from home, UW faculty, and staff members have had to pivot significantly to meet the increased demands from students for academic and personal support. This volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment in which we are working can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed and burnt out. This workshop will demonstrate practical strategies to mitigate the impact of workplace stress.

We understand that Staff and Faculty often face different situations and may have different needs. Everyone is welcome to attend either session. Each session will begin by exploring the experience of burnout generally, then move to consider some of the needs for a specific group.

Having an indication of how many people will be in attendance helps our facilitator prepare. We ask you to register at the links below (attendance will be kept confidential).
