Tyseer Aboulnasr is a Professor of Electrical Engineering in the School of Information Technology and Engineering, University of Ottawa. She was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa for 1998-2004 and Associate Dean (Academic) for 1996-1998.

Dr. Aboulnasr is a member of the Order of Ontario, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada. She has received the Ottawa -Carleton YWCA Women of Distinction Award (Education) in 1999 and was named as one of the 100 most influential people in Ottawa in 2001. She was chair of the Council of Ontario Deans of Engineering for 2001-2002.

Tyseer has been involved in strategic planning of engineering faculties as well as science and technology initiatives in Canada and overseas. She is also involved in several community groups aimed at building bridges and fostering understanding amongst Canadians.
