What is Swiss Chalet: Swiss Chalet is a Canadian casual dining restaurant that was founded in Canada in 1954.
The Quarter Chicken Dinner, the restaurant's signature dish, includes a roasted chicken leg or breast with "Chalet Sauce", a bread roll and a side dish. The company also has non-chicken items, such as ribs, rotisserie beef, burgers and poutine.
How does someone create their own start-up business? It all starts with thinking of a problem to solve!
Join this workshop where you will learn how to identify a real-world problem and the steps to develop your own start-up company. You will also get the chance to "pitch" your idea for a start-up to the workshop group.
To attend: Register on the GEAR Bulletin Board to attend, located near Room 1928. The workshop will take place in the Dunker Family Lounge.
Do you want to learn how to play Ultimare Frisbee?
Join us for a fun evening where you will learn how to play Ultimate Frisbee with the UWaterloo Ultimate Frisbee Club, and get to play with your classmates and other UWaterloo students!
To attend: Register on the BASE or EFAS Bulletin Boards near Room 1928. Meet your Peer Leader in the Renison Atrium by 6:45pm to walk over to PAC together, where the event will take place.
Have you ever been to a trampoline park before? Here's your chance!
Join us on this epic adventure to Sky Zone Kitchener. Enjoy freestyle jump trampolines, ultimate dodgeball, skyslam basketball, the foam zone, and more! The theme of the night is "White or Bright." This means that Sky Zone will have all the lights turned off for the night and you will need to wear a white or bright-coloured shirt. You will glow in the dark!
Take part in the Dundurn Castle trip to experience and tour a 40-room Italianate-style villa built in the 1830’s on Burlington Heights. These grounds were the former site of a fortified military encampment established by the British in 1813.
The park also includes the Hamilton Military Museum which has many displays, some including the War of 1812, World War I, and World War II.
To attend: Pleaese meet in the Renison Atrium by 8:45am as the bus will leave shortly after and will return at 1:30pm.

Startup Showcase is happening on Wednesday, February 13 at the Davis Centre, hosted by the Entrepreneurship Society at UWaterloo!
You will have the opportunity to learn more about startups & entrepreneurial partners in the KW region and their products/services, try out prototypes and give feedback on demos, learn about the gears that’s make startups turn, network with company executives and much more.

Take part in academic tours for either the Science & Engineering faculties or the Brubacher House Museum!
Join in on this great opportunity to visit the Science and Engineering faculty buildings to get a tour of the classrooms, labs and student spaces. This tour will give you an excellent look at what both of these faculties are like academically and socially. The tour will be led by current Science and Engineering undergraduate students so you are more than welcome to ask them any question you have about what it's like to be a student in their respective faculty!
Experience a Canadian hockey game and cheer on the University of Waterloo Warriors as they face off against the Laurier Goldenhawks on Thursday, February 7 in the Battle of Waterloo!

This is a great opportunity to get a guided tour around the UWaterloo campus and learn fun facts about some of the buildings! Along the way you also get to play a photo scavenger hunt game and compete in teams for a prize.
To attend: Register on the GEAR bulletin board to take part. Please meet in the Renison Atrium by 3:15pm on the day to divide into the teams with your Peer Leaders and begin the tour and game.
2019 is the Year of the Pig!
Join us in celebrating the Lunar New Year! This year, the English Language Institute will be celebrating Lunar New Year with Chinese, Japanese and Korean New Year traditions. Come to the Renison Atrium and learn about different customs that are done to celebrate the Lunar New Year, enjoy some treats and even try your hand at making traditional Chinese paper lanterns!
Practice your conversational English with students from Renison’s various language programs as well as students from the University of Waterloo -- and make a new friend!
