Arts Alumni Theatre Night - Unity (1918)Export this event to calendar

Tuesday, November 17, 2015 — 7:00 PM EST

The Faculty of Arts is pleased to host the Arts Alumni Theatre Night, featuring Kevin Kerr's Unity (1918), directed by Andy Houston.

About the Play

In the fall of 1918, as soldiers return to Canada from distant battlefields, a world devastated by four years of war is suddenly hit by a mysterious and deadly plague – the “Spanish flu”. The illness strikes anybody, even people in the prime of life.

UNITY (1918) offers a moving and revealing examination of what happens when a deadly virus arrives in a town in the middle of Saskatchewan that was thought to be safe – too distant, too remote – from an epidemic devastating populations elsewhere. This playwright takes us back to the moment in Canadian history, and poetically places the unthinkable threat of a deadly virus in our midst.
