Green Bomber | St. Paddy's Day 2016Export this event to calendar

Thursday, March 17, 2016 — 10:00 AM to Friday, March 18, 2016 — 1:30 AM EDT

Why Green Poster

Saint Patrick's Day, feast day (March 17) of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity.

Some say, centuries later he was honored as the patron saint of Ireland. The St. Patrick mythology includes the claim that he banished snakes from Ireland. It's true no snakes exist on the island today. But they never did.

St. Patrick's revelers thought wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, fairy creatures who would pinch anyone they could see (anyone not wearing green). People began pinching those who didn't wear green as a reminder that leprechauns would sneak up and pinch green-abstainers.

Now you know!

It's smart to wear green to The Bomber. Take shelter from the pinching leprechauns at The Bombshelter Pub this St Paddy's Day! 19+ only. Including: Irish menu, live Celtic band, fiddlers and tons of free giveaways!

Sign in policy in effect. Waterloo students can sign in two guests. Laurier Students can sign themselves in with a OneCard.
