The iBASE Rep Committee is a volunteer opportunity that can help you build your communication, leadership and teamwork skills through the active planning and execution of activities in the University of Waterloo campus community. iBASE Reps will also enhance their language and presentation skills through weekly team meetings.
The team will meet, along with iBASE Rep Peer Helper students, every week from July 18 to August 26, to plan a stress management event on campus.
iBASE students who participate in the program will have the chance to:
- Build volunteer experience through participation
- Receive a letter of recognition and certificate for their involvement in the initiative
- Strengthen their oral skills by communicating with native speakers
- Build time management and organization skills by helping to organize events
- Feel more connected to the UWaterloo community through active civic engagement
Requirements
To participate in the iBASE Rep Committee, iBASE students will be required to:
- Serve as a positive ambassador and role model for the iBASE program
- Attend regular planning meetings every week for one (1) hour
- Attend the event planned by the volunteer team
- Practice your English skills by always speaking English during all planning meetings and event
- Be active participants during the regular planning meetings and event
Note: Meetings will take place during times when iBASE students do not have class.
