Crystal Liu

Do you know Crystal Liu?

On Friday, April 5, Renison’s longest-serving Peer Leader was surprised with a special award at the Winter 2019 EFAS End-of-term Celebration — an Honourary Renison Peer Leader Award at Renison University College.

If you don’t know Crystal, you should. Crystal began her chapter at Renison in 2015 as a student in the Bridge to Academic Success in English (BASE) program. She began her chapter getting involved on campus with helping to organize Random Act of Kindness Day festivities in 2015. This was just the beginning of Crystal’s leadership skills at Waterloo.

Crystal was hired as a BASE Peer Leader in 2016-2017 and once again in 2017-2018. In Fall 2018, Crystal began serving as an ELI Peer Leader, supporting our English For Academic Success (EFAS) and General English at Renison (GEAR) students. Her time as a Peer Leader wraps up this month, and we are proud to see her graduate this Fall from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Crystal! Our Renison community has been a better place thanks to you.
