What? Conferences present excellent occasions to network with a variety of people, but many are unfamiliar with what to expect at conferences and how to maximize opportunities to engage.  We will explore some networking basics with a focus on how to maximize the opportunities that present themselves during academic and professional conferences.

The students of ENGL 799: Making Media Theory are pleased to present the results of their course-based work at the Communitech Hub. These hacked-together, interactive projects reflect on complex theories such as brainwave storytelling, conductive upcyclying, technosexuality, automated genocide, dirty media, digital devolution, and the value of uselessness.

The Writing and Communication Centre will be hosting its fall iteration of Speak like a Scholar from Monday, July 15th to Thursday, July 18th from 9am to 3pm each day.

This program is designed to help doctoral researchers develop their voices as independent scholars and give academic presentations such as dissertation defenses and conference papers with confidence.

Waterloo’s Writing and Communication Centre is currently accepting applications for Dissertation Boot CampThis online program, which is designed to help dissertation and thesis writers to get a jump start on their writing goals, runs Monday, July 8th to Thursday, July 11th from 9am to 4pm each day.
