Professional Foundations Workshop Series

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs launched a graduate professional skills credential, Professional Skills Foundations (Foundations) in October 2018, which has attracted over 350 graduate students from all six faculties!

What is Foundations? The program is designed to offer master’s and doctoral students broad exposure to and experience in four key skills areas (career preparation, communication, leadership, and personal effectiveness) and complements graduate students’ academic experience with workshops and personalized activities. Foundations is tailored to the skills and goals of each participant, and is relevant for all graduate students, regardless of the career path they choose.

Getting started: To begin, students must attend an introductory workshop. The next introductory workshop is taking place on January 21. Students can also register for the Foundations program to be notified when future workshops are scheduled.
