It is with considerable sadness that we note the passing of Mary Bales, distinguished UW English MA (1972) and MPhil (1973) graduate and friend to many in the Department.
The Digital Exhibition at English@Gaukel yesterday featured a broad selection of student-made "objects to think with" that both entertained and offered critical perspectives on the role of digital technology in our lives. Among the objects displayed were the following:
In an effort to showcase non-academic career paths, the Faculty of Arts features alumni profiles on its website. Currently, the website highlights two English alumni profiles: Mark Carter (MA) and Catherine Scott (PhD). It is rather interesting to see how our graduates are putting their degrees to good use.
