What's in a name?
The name Environment Technology & Instructional Support (ETIS) reflects the three main components of what we do:
- Environment Technology - Through tools such as geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, we enable students and researchers to understand a multitude of environmental, economic, and urban issues.
- Instructional Support - We provide tools (such as computers, statistical analysis software) to allow students and researchers to analyze various problems relating to our natural environment and our communities. Through tools such as computer-aided design (CAD), we enable people in the Faculty of Environment to create images and 3D visualizations of various urban environments.
