Come back to the University of Waterloo on Saturday, September 30, 2017 for Reunion 2017. Revisit the Faculty of Environment, reunite with former classmates and profs, and relive your fond campus memories.
We’ve got loads of events planned, including a Jane’s Walk-inspired community tour, an environment-themed mosaic building activity and, of course, lots of food. Please register by Friday, September 22, 2017 to join the fun.
Faculty of Environment Reunion 2017 Program
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. WELCOME RECEPTION, EV3 ATRIUM
Our Reunion morning starts in the beautiful Environment 3 Minto Atrium where you will pick up your name tag, enter our giveaway, and meet with Dean Andrey and fellow alumni.
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. “JANE’S WALK”-INSPIRED COMMUNITY TOUR
See how Kitchener-Waterloo has grown over the years and hear from local alumni volunteers, about the companies, organizations and people shaping K-W into a world-class technology center.
- 10:00 AM - We’ll board the bus and head to our first stop in downtown Kitchener, where we’ll grab a complimentary coffee at alumnus-owned Settlement Co. Next we’ll hear about the most vibrant players in the startup and tech community including Google, Desire2Learn, Velocity Garage, Communitech and Thalmic Labs. The tour will also check out UW’s innovative Pharmacy building.
- 11:30 AM – Back on the bus for our next stop in Uptown Waterloo, where you’ll see the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), the Perimeter Institute, the Barrel Yards, the new LRT hub, Waterloo City Hall and much, much more.
- 12:00 PM - Our tour concludes with a scenic stroll through Waterloo Park before heading back to campus to enjoy lunch and get our hands dirty making a mosaic.
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. CATERED LUNCH &“CREATING A MOSAIC”
Enjoy a delicious lunch catered by alumnus-owned AbeErb and join SERS alumna and City of Kitchener’s Artist in Residence Julie Sperling, who will use her talents and artistic eye to help us create a one-of-a-kind environment-themed mosaic.
Have a blast hammering out material and leaving your personal stamp on a unique piece of art which we will proudly display in the newly renovated Environment 2 student space.
Other campus activities
Take in the football game from the Alumni VIP tent, join President Hamdullahpur for the Milestone Luncheon or check out the action across the creek. If you're coming into town early, join us for dinner and trivia at the Bomber, followed by A Tribe Called Red concert! There are so many exciting activities happening around campus for Reunion 2017! Additional costs may apply.
5:00 P.M. OKTOBERFEST AT THE BOMBER, SLC
Celebrate an Oktoberfest-themed dinner and after-party at the Bombshelter Pub and see what's changed over the years. Whether you called it the "Bomber" or the "CC Pub," you can relive and make new memories with friends while sharing a drink.
Tickets can be purchased for the dinner, after-party, or both. Dinner and after-party $25, after-party only is free.
