Cai de Ridder (BES '18) is a transportation professional who specializes in active transportation planning and design. He began his career as a coop student at the City of Toronto where he was inspired by how cycling infrastructure projects can improve mobility, safety, and transportation equity in urban environments.

Since graduation from the Faculty of Environment in 2018, he has had the opportunity to work professionally as a Transportation Planner for WSP, one of Canada's leading professional services consulting firms. As a consultant, Cai works with a multidisciplinary team of active transportation professionals to deliver master plans, technical design manuals, stakeholder engagement programs and infrastructure design projects for municipalities across the province of Ontario.

In June of 2021, he transitioned into a new position as a Senior Planner for Bike Share Toronto where he supports the system's planning and expansion across Toronto. Cai is passionate about cycling and creating new opportunities for people to choose this sustainable form of transportation to explore vibrant communities.
