As we celebrate the holidays and are surrounded by family and friends, I think many of us are reminded of how lucky we are.
In the next two months, Waterloo region could get up to 1150 Syrian refugees who will call our community home.
The Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience (WISIR) is pleased to host Melanie Goodchild, Senior Counsel, Indigenous Relations, National Head Office, Canadian Red Cross to discuss Indigenous Science and the Role of Value in Research. Please join us on December 7th 2015. Space is limited.
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
