The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition asks University of Waterloo research-based master's and doctoral students to explain the breadth and significance of their research to a non-specialist audience using only one static slide in three minutes.
Not only does the 3MT help cultivate students' presentation and communication skills while providing them with invaluable networking opportunities, winners also have the potential to win thousands of dollars in prizes. Learn more and register now by clicking here.
Competitors are able to attend faculty-based heats, so we encourage you to join us at the Environment Faculty Heat on Tuesday March 5 at 4:00p.m. in EV3 1408. Keep in mind, the deadline for slides will be Friday February 22.
A generation ago, finding a job after graduation was about interviewing for a 9:00 to 5:00 career opportunity. Today, graduating students have to find their way through a maze of contract work, part-time jobs, short-term positions, side hustles, consulting opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures. To understand the exciting – and terrifying! – world of the gig economy, this event brings together a group of presenters who’ve found a way to survive and thrive in this new reality. Join us on Tuesday March 5th from 5:00-7:00pm at EV2 2002!
