A generation ago, finding a job after graduation was about interviewing for a 9:00 to 5:00 career opportunity. Today, graduating students have to find their way through a maze of contract work, part-time jobs, short-term positions, side hustles, consulting opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures. To understand the exciting – and terrifying! – world of the gig economy, this event will bring in Leah Feor, social entrepreneur and instructor at the School of Business and Management at Niagara College. Join us on Thursday July 11th from 5:00-7:00pm at EV3 4412!
Leah Feor is the owner of Simply Sustainable, a small business that has evolved from a fair trade mobile shop to a strategic consulting firm serving entrepreneurs with a social or environmental mission. She studied in Ottawa and has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, and is now residing in Crystal Beach – close to her family and the natural beauty of Niagara. She teaches at Niagara College in the School of Business and Management and is completing a Master of Environment and Business (MEB) from the University of Waterloo. Leah also serves as a member of the Social Enterprise Niagara Planning Committee and as a board member for the Niagara Peninsula Conversation Authority.
