The Leadership Series: Goal Setting

The Leadership Series was created to give students from the Faculty of Environment an opportunity to connect with, and learn from, a broad range of faculty alumni through themed discussions and small-group networking.

The focus for our Winter 2020 event is goal setting.

Goal setting is a critical skill if you are looking to progress on a particular career path. And who better to learn from than the individuals who have put them to the test? The aim of this Leadership Series is to share goal setting best practices and provide real-world examples of goal setting in practice. This event will feature a special presentation by career advisor, Alicia Flatt.

RSVP deadline is Friday, January 24, 2020 or when capacity is reached. Space is limited - sign up today!

Meet our guest speaker: Alicia Flatt

Alicia FlattSetting new goals for the future is exciting! - and can be intimidating. Alicia Flatt is a Career Advisor at the Centre for Career Action who will walk you through what types of goals you can set for yourself, and highlight the free resources available on campus to help turn your goals into a reality.

"Goal setting was really important in figuring out where I ultimately wanted to end up in my own career. I knew I wanted to work in higher education with university students, but in what department and in what capacity? Setting a goal to network with those in the field, taking additional courses after graduation, and exploring different areas all led to the position I am in now; a position I love!"
