The second international Polar Data Forum (PDF II) will be held at the University of Waterloo. The Forum will provide a critically important venue for showcasing polar data initiatives, to learn from global partners and work collaboratively to continue developing an international vision and action plan.
The rapid environmental changes in the Arctic and Antarctic make it an important time to begin strongly advocating for open data sharing among the future generation of polar researchers to maximize the potential for scientific discovery and polar stewardship.
PDF II provides a unique opportunity for the coordination and information exchange regarding open polar data sharing between data managers, researchers and graduate students through a series of planned workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations.
Additionally, presenters will have the opportunity to publish peer-reviewed Forum Papers in a planned special issue of the CODATA Data Science Journal.
Abstracts will be accepted now until July 1, 2015.
