The Youth Action on Climate Change (YACC) is looking for motivated young people who want to have a positive impact on our planet. The YACC wants to connect you with other youth who feel the same way and give you the tools, resources, and mentorship in order to implement your solutions right now. There will be interactive workshops, a networking lunch with local sustainability organizations, swag and more!
Youth Action on Climate Change is a community incubator dedicated to building the next generation of environmental leaders. Through workshops and brainstorming sessions, YACC helps youth develop the critical leadership skills to become change-makers. This program began at the University of Guelph and is now expanding to Waterloo to form a Waterloo-Wellington partnership and expand our reach and impact across communities.
Youth tickets are for students and young people under the age of 25. Parents/guardians who wish to attend the event with their child are welcome to do so, however, they will not be able to access the hands-on workshops or participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions due to resource and capacity limitations. Parents/guardians attending the event will still be provided with lunch as well as beverages and snacks throughout the day and are more than welcome to observe the days activities. We will also have a parent representative on-hand to answer any questions that you may have about our organization and future programs.
Hands-on workshops require additional registration. All registered attendees will be emailed once the workshop registration opens.
An event agenda will be made available closer to the date.
