Environmental Commissioner of Ontario to meet with Faculty researchers

Gord Miller, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario (ECO), and his Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Committee will be on the University of Waterloo campus on June 4th to engage with Faculty of Environment research groups, including graduate students.

Canadian Food Studies launches new journal

The Canadian Association of Food Studies (CAFS) has launched a new academic journal entitled Canadian Food Studies/La Revue canadienne des études sur l'alimentation, to share historical, philosophical, social, political, economic, scientific and cultural perspectives about food and the food system. It is an open-access, online journal hosted by the University of Waterloo Library.

The journal is edited by Ellen Desjardins, a research associate with the Department of Geography and Environmental Management. The Faculty of Environment’s leading food researchers, Jennifer Clapp and Steffanie Scott, are both members of the CAFS Board of Directors, with Scott recently completing her presidency of CAFS.
