Will the world be able to feed an extra 2 billion people in the next 20 years? To examine challenges presented by a growing demand for meat-rich diets in developing countries in light of the gross inefficiencies of animal protein production, The Agenda with Steve Paikin invited School of Environment, Enterprise and Development professor Goretty Dias, along with four other experts for The Future of Protein; Farming to Feed the World.

What do the European heat wave of 2003, the 2010 Russian drought, and the massive storm that hammered Windsor, ON last year have in common? They were all caused by oddities in the jet stream, being "thrown for a loop" by the rapid pace of global warming.

In the media: Thomas Homer-Dixon on the potential collapse of Western civilization

Historically, civilizations collapse for a plethora of factors. In a recent story, BBC Future asked: "What are they, and which, if any, have already begun to surface?" One of the experts they consulted to answer the question was Balsillie School of International Affairs and the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development professor, Thomas Homer-Dixon.
