Jack Rosen Memorial Pitch Competition

On November 13th, 2019, eleven teams competed for the Jack Rosen memorial pitch competition. Jack Rosen was an entrepreneur and recycling pioneer. In his honor,the Rosen family contributes to the growth of Entrepreneurship in the faculty of environment for the competition to find solutions to mitigate environmental problems. 

Entrepreneurship at Environment ( E @ E ), GreenHouse and the Environment Advancement office worked hand in hand to go through applications, host practice pitch sessions and organize the competition.

A night to celebrate Environment's finest alumni

Environment says farewell to its first 50 years by celebrating those making the next 50 possible

2019’s Faculty of Environment Alumni Award winners include a builder, a healer, an organizer and a top executive. They are diverse in age, gender, experience and background. What they do share in common is a commitment to make the world a more sustainable place along every path they’ve taken since their studies in Environment.

Waterloo professor named to provincial climate change advisory panel

Professor Blair Feltmate has been named to the Ontario government’s Advisory Panel on Climate Change. The Honorable Jeff Yurek, minister of the environment, conservation and parks, made the announcement on November 28.

Happy Holidays! Faculty of Environment's 2019 holiday video

Holiday greetings to friends old and new!

In the last 50 years, much has changed, it is true,

With more students, more programs, more careers to pursue.

And with all the growth, the tools once used

Can now seem quite puzzling, leaving students bemused.
