ENV’s Thomas Homer-Dixon announces new institute focusing on humanity’s critical problems, including pandemics

https://cascadeinstitute.org/The New Cascade Institute is a collaboration between the University of Waterloo and Royal Roads University that will identify intervention points that have the potential to positively influence global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cascade Institute will focus on humanity’s critical problems, including pandemics, climate change, growing wealth inequality, economic disruption, political instability and social upheaval and how these crises are interconnected.

With the current need for social distancing, a more challenging environment for grocery stores and shortages in some essential supplies, a Waterloo professor and PhD student are hoping to save you unnecessary trips to the store.
