A new report by Environment's Partners for Action discovers most Canadians living in flood risk areas do not know their homes are in danger, which could cost Canadian taxpayers billions in population resettlement.

The Faculty of Environment’s Maria Strack is one of five University of Waterloo researchers named as fellows of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) and members of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
Strack is among 87 new fellows elected by their peers for outstanding scholarly, scientific, and artistic achievement and 50 new members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists across Canada recently announced.
