Congratulations to all of the incredible Faculty of Environment students who will be completing their studies and joining the alumni community in 2019. The Faculty of Environment Grad Send-Off is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to raise a glass and celebrate the success and achievements of the graduating class prior to the Spring convocation on June 11th.

How would you explain the entire breadth and significance of your life's work (or thesis) to people with no background in your work in 1 slide and 3 minutes? Earlier this month, PhD Candidate Percy Korsah won first place at the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Environment heat, with runners-up Victor Agbo and Tia Driver tying for second place. Each year 3MT provides a venue for graduate students to share their research with the community. The student who wins the university-wide competition will go on to present at the provincial and possibly national level.
It’s been a year of firsts for School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability (SERS), Master’s student Cheryl who was runner-up in the University’s 2016 3MT competition and is now a Top 25 finalists in The Storytellers competition. “I’d never done anything like this before,” she laughs, “but I’d never done anything like the 3MT either. You just have to believe that you can do it.”
