Dan Schneider Heritage projects

In 2018 heritage conservation expert Dan Schneider joined the Faculty of Environment as a collaborator for its Heritage Resource Centre (HRC). As part of this mandate HRC began hosting Schneider’s heritage policy blog OHA+M. OHA+M has become a respected source of information and commentary on Ontario’s legal and policy framework for cultural heritage as well as current public policy initiatives and issues.

Awards for Distinguished Academic Achievement are presented annually at spring convocation in recognition of academic excellence of the top graduating student from each academic plan. The award recipient is chosen by the Undergraduate Officer based on scholastic achievement. Congratulations to the 2020 Academic Achievement Award recipients!

Environment-led Map the System team advances to global finals with light rail gentrification project

The University of Waterloo’s Map the System team, including two students from the Faculty of Environment are taking their local research to the global stage in June, following a winning presentation at the Canadian finals last week.Kaitlin Webber, Emma McDougall, and Sam Petrie collaborated to explore the social and economic impact of the recently launched Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in Waterloo Region.

It’s a necessity many of us dread, especially right now — grocery shopping has never taken more strategy or time. With the current need for social distancing, a more challenging environment for grocery stores and shortages in some essential supplies, a Waterloo professor and PhD student are hoping to save you unnecessary trips to the store.
