On December 7th, Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment was abuzz with visits from community members stopping by to tour the facility for the fourth Community Visit Day.
The Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment, located in Huntsville, Ontario, is as an extension of the University of Waterloo main campus. The year-round research, teaching and community centre hosts field study courses, workshops and research in the study of ecology, climate change, tourism, land-use planning and local economic development. Visitors had a chance to see lecture hall and classroom spaces, check out the dorm room accommodations, see soon-to-be-developed research and laboratory space, and enjoy refreshments in the kitchen and lounge areas. Many enjoyed taking their pictures in front of the living wall at feature staircase.
Upcoming events at the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment include winter field research courses, spring term courses, and a variety of seminars, and conferences.
