The Faculty of Environment is proud to announce the Dean's Doctoral Initiative (#DDI17) is back.
To help us shape a sustainable future, the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo is inviting the best and the brightest to join our doctoral programs. The Faculty has 35 fully-funded doctoral opportunities worth $100,000 over four years, for Canadian/Permanent Resident students.
- An Entrance Award to all domestic PhD students who have retained an average of 85.0% or higher in their previous two years of study (paid in three installments in the first year).
- The Exceptional Doctoral Student Scholarship worth $10,000 will be awarded to up to 10 PhD domestic entering students, based on eligibility, merit, and completion of an application form before 15th Feb 2018.
In 2015 Environment decided to boldly build on its base of over 500 graduate students with the Dean's Doctoral Initiative to attract a new cohort of top Environment students to address urgent social and environmental issues. The result was the largest group of doctoral students ever admitted to the Faculty.
Environment is now the most grad-student-intensive faculty on the University of Waterloo campus.
Students who are accepted under the DDI and begin studies between January 1 and December 31, 2018.
