Environment announces new funding package for domestic master’s students

Building on its status as Waterloo’s most graduate studies-intensive faculty, Environment aims to attract top master’s students. Environment offers a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental and societal issues.

The Faculty of Environment is excited to announce a new funding package to exceptional domestic Masters students starting their studies in 2018.

This package includes:

  • Entrance award: $ 5,000 (split in Terms 1 and 2)
  • 3 TA positions (in terms 1, 2 and 5 for a total value of $15,300)
  • 3 Graduate Experience Awards (in terms 1, 2 and 5 for a total value of $7,500)

The full package is worth approximately $27,800 across the two years of study. In some cases, research supervisors will provide additional funding.

Who is eligible?

  • Students admitted to a research based Masters program – thesis stream, and
  • Students who are Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
  • For domestic Master’s students whose GPA in the last 2 years is between 80% and 84.5%, the package includes
    ​- 3 TAs
    - 3 GEAs
    - In some cases, research supervisors will provide additional funding

  • For domestic Master’s students whose GPA in the last 2 year is between 75% and 79.5%, the package includes
    - 2 TAs
    - 2 GEAs
    - In some cases, research supervisors will provide additional funding
